About 3 months ago I was in Dallas for a PCG board meeting and while I was bored in a meeting I started thinking about the Fountain for 2012 and meditating in my spirit about what God wants to accomplish through us a s a people this year.

Sitting in that hotel ballroom I heard a gunshot go off in the spirit and I heard God say to me “It’s time for the Fountain to get out of the blocks. Many of the people I’ve entrusted to you have trained for years. Many of them you have trained and you have been working to equip them for impact in your city. Now is the time to get out of the blocks and run with the vision. Run with what I’ve given you. Get out of the blocks.”

The analogies in scripture comparing the Christian life to a race are numerous and all of them invite us to action. The one that stands out to me the most is Heb 12

Heb 12:1-2
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

How sad would it be if an Olympic runner trained 12 hours a day, 6 days a week for 4 years and when the gun went off, he decided to stay put. What a waste. How sad is it when the people of God sit in church Sunday after Sunday, Wednesday after Wednesday, listen to the podcasts, take notes, go to conferences, receive the impartation of the Spirit and then when the gun goes off and God says it’s time, we stay put.

What would The Fountain look like if all of us got out of the blocks?

With this in mind I started penning my dreams for this congregation for 2012. If we can get out the blocks in these areas, we will be on our way.
